October 2010
This is not figurative. Forreal. I was walking along with some lovely song from Anna’s fancy iPod touch in my ears and some SUV pulled out and I stared directly into the headlights. Directly.Into.Them. And then I fell quite clumsily into a ditch. I sort of kept my balance(ish), there was just a lot of tripping and swaying. The best part was the SUV saw this whole thing occur, plus the bit where I started hysterically laughing. And also the bit where I suddenly panicked and sprinted up the road back towards my house.

September 2010
-Ladies, please. Life is not an ongoing tryout for America’s Next Top Hooker. It’s like fifty degrees outside right now. Also, we’re not in Texas. So while cowboy boots are cute if you’re maybe going to a contra dance or a Sarah Palin rally, they aren’t practical because HELLO WE ARE IN THE MOUNTAINS AND THEY ARE IMPRACTICAL.
-I almost got hit by three different cars. And when they all missed I almost got hit by a bike.
-And on the subject of cars, I managed to scratch the side of mine with the side of my house. Tell me how that happens even.
-I wish life was a big pan of banana bread.
-This guy was playing a harmonica and guitar SIMULTANEOUSLY in one of the cafeterias today and I was ecstatic.
-I heard two British girls discussing Harry Potter in the English building and I almost cried out of the sheer joy that accompanies hearing the phrase ” ‘Arry Pottah” come out of someone’s mouth. They were discussing what they were going to wear to the premiere. I wanted to jump in one of their backpacks and live there for…ev…er. I looked next to me and this random girl was just sitting there motionless, staring, mouth agape. She clearly agreed with me that this was the stuff of legend.
-It’s cloudy but pleasant which is perfect. And I’m thoroughly enjoying I Love Lucy right now.
Boy I tell ya, my clothes are making less and less sense as the year goes on. And it’s still September.
